The dreamiest vendor team brought Kateland and Cannon’s spring wedding at La Cantera Resort & Spa to life. Set against the rolling hills just outside San Antonio, the venue pairs the polish of a luxury resort with the warmth and natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Golden spring light moved through the courtyards, across the stone archways, and into every portrait, while Scarlet Rose Events carried the couple’s vision through each thoughtful detail of the day.
The morning began slowly and sweetly. Soft laughter filled Kateland’s suite as her mother fastened the final button on her gown and Veil Artistry added the finishing touches to her hair and makeup. Down the hall, Cannon got ready surrounded by longtime friends, with plenty of jokes helping to settle his nerves.
Their first look was the kind of moment that quietly undoes you. Cannon’s hands went straight to his face as Kateland approached, laughing through tears. His completely unfiltered reaction will always be one of my favorite moments from the day. I also loved knowing the team at Nomatic Wedding Films was right beside me, preserving it all in motion.
We spent the afternoon wandering the grounds of La Cantera Resort & Spa, using the sweeping Hill Country views, textured stone, and soft spring light to create portraits that felt both elevated and effortless. As the sun began to settle, guests gathered for the ceremony and Kateland made her way down the aisle. A quiet stillness fell over the space, the kind that only happens when two people are exactly where they are meant to be. By the time they exchanged vows, there was hardly a dry eye in the crowd.
Every design choice complemented the natural beauty of the setting. Gold chiavari chairs and sage green napkins framed each place setting, while The Vintage Bouq filled the tables with citrus-toned roses, buttery yellow blooms, and delicate sprigs of lavender. Tall glass taper candles cast a warm glow across the room. Illusions Rentals and Absolute Rentals SA layered in elevated, textural pieces without competing with the Texas Hill Country backdrop.
Once the reception began, the bright and airy room transformed into a full celebration. The Jordan Kahn Orchestra kept the energy building throughout the evening, and guests barely left the dance floor. Between heartfelt toasts, Kateland’s dance with her father, and a newlywed couple who could not stop smiling at one another, the night seemed to move far too quickly. Everyone eventually paused just long enough to enjoy the cake from It’s A Good Cake, which was almost too lovely to cut.
At the end of the evening, Kateland and Cannon shared one final dance alone while their guests gathered outside for the exit. Beyond the windows, the Hill Country disappeared into darkness as candlelight continued to flicker across the room. It was a quiet, intimate ending to a day filled with so much joy.
Kateland and Cannon’s La Cantera Resort & Spa wedding was filled with meaningful moments, exquisite details, and the kind of celebration that makes every photograph feel alive. Congratulations to the newlyweds, and thank you for trusting me to document such a special day. It was a genuine privilege.
