When it comes to your wedding details, your invitation suite is truly where your story begins. It is the very first glimpse into your day, setting the tone, the palette, and the feeling your guests will carry with them! When I arrive on a wedding morning, one of the first things I reach for is your paper goods because they deserve to be documented with just as much intention as everything else.
Over the years, I’ve found that a thoughtfully packed detail box can make all the difference in elevating your invitation photos from simple to editorial and refined. So if you’re wondering what to bring, here’s exactly what I recommend!

This might sound obvious, but I always suggest bringing a complete set of everything, not just the main invite. Think envelopes, RSVP cards, details cards, and any inserts. Having multiple pieces allows me to layer and create dimension, which instantly makes your photos feel more intentional and elevated.
I always recommend having at least two clean copies of your suite. This gives me flexibility to photograph front and back elements together without compromising the layout. It also ensures everything looks pristine, which makes a big difference in close-up detail shots!
Your engagement ring and wedding bands are such an important part of your story, and they pair beautifully with your invitation suite. I love incorporating them in a way that feels natural and refined. It adds a personal layer to your detail photos without taking away from the paper design.

A few small floral clippings from your florist can completely transform your flat lays. Whether it is soft roses, delicate greenery, or even dried elements, these details tie your invitation photos back to the overall design of your day in the most seamless way!
Silk ribbon, chiffon, or even a piece of fabric from your dress can add softness and movement to your images. I love using these elements to create a more editorial feel while still keeping everything timeless and true to your aesthetic.
Think wax seals, custom stamps, vow books, or even a perfume bottle you plan to wear. These small, intentional items help tell a fuller story and make your images feel uniquely yours without overwhelming the composition.

Once you’ve gathered your details, the best thing you can do is hand them off and let me work my magic! I approach every flat lay with a blend of editorial intention and documentary storytelling, always keeping your overall vision in mind. My goal is to create something that not only looks beautiful, but feels like you.
At the end of the day, these images are more than just pretty details. They are the beginning of your story, captured with care and purpose, and preserved in a way that you’ll be able to look back on for years to come.

“Brittney was my favorite vendor on our wedding day. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. She was on schedule, direct when needed, and somehow one of the kindest people all rolled into one. Brittney is the hype woman that you didn’t know that you needed. Neither my husband or I are used to being in front of a camera and by the end we were comfortable and able to be in the moment together. Her photos made our pretty venue and meaningful day look even better than real life. She’s a wizard. I couldn’t recommend her enough for engagement, boudoir, and wedding photos 🤍🤍”
