Kasey and McKenna’s Hummingbird House wedding felt like stepping into another world without ever leaving Austin. Tucked away in South Austin, the venue offered a rare blend of garden romance and Hill Country charm. Lush greenery and blooming florals set the tone from the moment guests arrived, long before the ceremony began.

There are a few moments from this day that I know will stay with me for a long time. One was the quiet moment Kasey shared with her dad beside the red convertible he had restored especially for her wedding. It felt like a memory being tucked away before the day carried them forward.

Before Kasey walked down the aisle, guests listened to a letter written in her own words. She reflected on the day and on the mother she lost too soon. It was tender, honest and deeply personal, making her mom’s presence feel woven into every part of the garden that afternoon.

More than anything, family carried the day. Kasey’s dad walked her down the aisle, and just before reaching McKenna, she found her stepmom’s eyes in the crowd. She has stood beside Kasey since her mother passed, and although the exchange between them was small, it said everything about the many shapes love can take.

Once the reception began, the energy shifted quickly. Disco lights spun across the dance floor while the music leaned into Kasey’s love of EDM. Cheeseburgers arrived later in the evening for anyone who needed a little fuel to keep dancing, and the tented reception stayed comfortable all night, giving the party no reason to slow down. With so many guests heading to ACL the following morning, the energy on the dance floor felt perfectly fitting.

Kasey and McKenna, thank you for trusting me to document such a meaningful day. Photographing your Hummingbird House wedding was a genuine privilege and one I will carry with me for a long time.
